Are you looking for a safe and comfortable space to share your thoughts and feelings about death and dying? Death Café is an occasional gathering exploring the boundary, and what lies beyond, over tea and cake. Regardless of your perspectives, all are welcome to this non-sectarian event hosted by Alex House’s community programmer, Neil Fernyhough, who is also a trained pastoral care provider and former social worker. 

Neighbourhood Fun Nights Family Fun Finale!

The staff of Kensington Prairie Children’s Centre invite you to join them for a barbeque dinner, including salads and dessert. Afterwards, there will be a scavenger hunt, bouncy castle, and face painting.

Looking for something fun and relaxing to do with the kids on a hot summer evening? Join us July 16 for Carnival Night! Our summer counsellors have dreamed up lots of activities including a

cupcake walk, soak-a-counsellor, face painting and more! Dinner will feature assorted wraps, pasta salad, and dessert.

This Wednesday, July 9, from 5 to 7 pm, Alexandra Neighbourhood House will present the first of its summer series, Neighbourhood Fun Night! 

We rang in the new year with a laugh -  in January, Lit Café presented "A Load of Wack!: Literature of the Absurd, Eccentric, and Silly."  Now join us Thursday June 13 for Lit Café 18.

The Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) certification program provides training and volunteer experience to assist with employment as a camp counselor or recreation leader. The program offers students ages 14 to 18  valuable opportunities to develop essential skills, new friendships and self-confidence. Pre-camp training sessions include communication and leadership techniques necessary for working with adults with developmental disabilities and children, as well as program planning, communication skills, problem solving and much more.

One again we're offering summer employment for various positions during our residential summer camps for adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs, and our newcomer camp for refugees and new immigrants to Canada. Camps run through June and July and positions include: Residential Camp Coordinator, Assistant Camp Coordinator, Camp Administrator, Camp Health Officer and Camp Counsellors. These positions are specifically for students who will be returning to school in the fall.

Come to the Dining Hall for an Italion feast at noon, Wednesday May14th for our second to last community lunch before we break for summer. Peter Pollace will entertain on the banjo, accordion and guitar. Contact Neil at
